BRS enters the Politics of Andhra Pradesh:
Ex-minister, Top Officers join the party

On Monday, the newly renamed Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), headed by CM K Chandrashekar Rao, made a popular entry in the neighboring Telugu State - Andhra Pradesh.
Many leaders from Andhra Pradesh, including Jana Sena leader Thota Chandrasekhar, retired IAS officer and Ex-minister Ravela Kishore Babu, and Ex IRS officer Chintala Parthsarathi, joined the BRS in the presence of Party Chief KCR at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Mr. Chandrasekhar, a prominent Munnuru Kapu leader, entered politics in 2009 with Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) floated by famous actor and Ex Union minister Chiranjeevi. He unsuccessfully contested the 2009 Parliamentary elections from Guntur Lok Sabha Seat. Later Chandrasekhar joined the YSRCP and contested the Parliamentary elections from Eluru Lok Sabha Seat in 2014 but again lost. Later, he joined the Jana Sena party led by Chiranjeevi's brother Pawan Kalyan and has played a vital role in the party for the last 8 years.
Mr. Chandrasekhar also lost in the 2019 assembly election from West Guntur. After pausing for a while from active politics, Chandrasekhar has joined the BRS now and is likely to be appointed the BRS - Andhra Pradesh state president, party sources said.
Kishore Babu, who entered politics after quitting the Indian Revenue Service and joined Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, served as social welfare minister during the Chandrababu Naidu Govt. between 2014 and 2018. He later joined the BJP and served as a VP of the Party's AP unit from 2020 to 2022, but he quit the party later has now joined BRS.
