The BRS-led Telangana government on Wednesday moved to a division bench of the state high court, challenging the judgment of a single-judge bench transferring the case of an alleged attempt to poach 4 BRS MLAs into the BJP to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) a center government investigation agency.
Apart from the CM KCR government, Telangana's DGP, the SIT headed by Hyderabad police commissioner C V Anand and Cyberabad police also filed separate petitions before the division bench headed by the High Court chief justice Ujjal Bhuyan.
The state government challenged in the petition the decision of the single-judge bench dissolving the SIT to probe the alleged attempt to poach the MLAs. It argued that transferring the case to the CBI, a union government agency, meant diluting it.
