50,000 farmers gather at Delhi Ramlila Ground, a new headache for Union Govt.?

The Nation and World witnessed how thousands of farmers across the country had a massive months-long agitation against the 3 controversial agricultural laws made by the Modi Government; now, around 50,000 farmers again gathered at the Ramlila Ground in Delhi on Monday.
The farmers gathered after the RSS-affiliated farmers' body, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), called for a 'Kisan Garjana' rally at the Ramlila Ground in the central zone of Delhi.
The Farmers have united under the BKS banner to seek relief measures to improve their condition and to remind the Govt. to abide by their promises made at the time of election campaigning. The rally is a show of united strength as the RSS Affiliated - Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) hopes to push the Centre Government to meet their demands, including farm debt waiver, compensation for crop damage, and minimum selling prices for their produce. The Major Demands raised by BKS are as follows:
  • No GST on farm produce
  • Profitable prices on all farm production
  • Financial relief provided under the "Kisan Samman Nidhi" must be increased
  • Export and import policy as per the interest of farmers
  • The 15-year rule under Vehicle Scrappage Policy should not apply to farmer's tractors
  • An Effective Water Management
This fresh agitation of farmer-led by thousands gathered in the capital in one way or another raises questions about the present Govt work and deliverables. In 2014, PM Modi and his Party Leaders had widely campaigned to double farmers' income by 2022. But, the country witnessed a mammoth protest by the Nationwide farmers in 2021, and this new agitation comes in 2022 signals the farmers, who are in large numbers indicate that are not happy with the present Govt. policies. And especially protests led by BJP's parent organization RRS-affiliated BKS protest further validate the statement.
As the capital, yet another held massive farmers' rally, this is a warning sign for the Modi Government to learn from the past, or history can repeat itself. It is high time that the BJP-led Modi Government must pay attention to farmers' issues, or they may invite another massive protest by farmers. 2023 is a year with back-to-back Elections in many Agriculture dominated states like M.P., Rajasthan, and Chattisgarh. It could damage the BJP vote share if not handled swiftly.
Hundreds of thousands of farmers had camped at Delhi's Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur borders beginning in November 2020. An all-season year-long confrontation between the government and the farmers, marked by a few violent clashes with security forces, left around 700 farmers dead.
After months of denial and avoidance, the BJP was forced, and PM Modi announced on November 19, 2021, that their Govt. would scrap the laws. And then the laws were scrapped.
