75 years after Independence, India still witnesses the use of Filthy Language in Politics

India has been known for its Inclusive and Multicultural society for centuries and holds the honor of being the World's Largest Democracy. In contrast, the abusive and filthy language used by many Politicians, irrespective of Party, continues to attack India's prestige. Politicians are sometimes served notices or lodged in FIRs, and only that becomes the course almost every time with no further action by the Government or the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Assam's chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, launched a veiled dig at Rahul Gandhi. Addressing a rally in Ahmedabad, Himanta Biswa said that Rahul has changed his looks and now looks like former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
First, Himanta Biswa Sarma should refrain from making such comments as he holds the Constitutional Posts of Chief Minister. Secondly, he must consider what wrong Saddam Hussain had done with India and what is his relation with Gujarat? Why should his name come in Gujarat Elections?
Under Saddam Hussain's rule, Iraq was a good Trading Partner of India and shared good relations. Saddam Hussain was against the US, not India, and he was attacked by the United States armed forces for allegedly having weapons of mass destruction (WMD). The rest is history as Iraq was bombarded into Stone Age, and years later, US secretary of state Colin Powell admitted that he was forced to lie about WMDs.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma should have talked about the plans BJP has for Gujarat and the initiatives he has taken to better the lives of the people of Assam as a Chief Minister.
And, it is not only one instance of making personal attacks; there is a list of such incidents. In 2014, BJP MLA Heeralal Regar declared his intention to "strip" Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and transport them to Italy.
In 2017, PM Modi scored over his rivals even in bad-mouthing. He could get away with his "true feelings" when, during the 2017 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, he compared Congress to "termites,"
And Congress also has several times compared PM Modi with Mussolini and Hitler and likewise personally attacked PM.
Thus, the Kind of Language spoken in the Politics of India not only tarnish the image of India. Also, have a terrible impact on the Youth and New Voters who consider these Leaders as their icons and vote. And, such language spoken to or by Leaders who hold respected Constitutional posts is shameful. The lack of a strict deterrent is a major factor contributing to a rise in verbal abuse against holders of constitutional positions and senior leaders.
