KTR to showcase Mission Bhagiratha,
Kaleshwaram project in the US

Industries Minister and the ruling BRS's Top Leader, KT Rama Rao, will be showcasing Telangana’s key projects and its success in water resource management, especially the Mission Bhagiratha and the Kaleshwaram project at the World Environmental and Water Resources Congress to be conducted in Henderson, Nevada, United States.
KTR left for the United States yesterday morning. It is the 2nd time that the Telangana Minister will be addressing the inaugural ceremony at the World Environmental and Water Resources Congress, which will be held from 21st May to 25. In 2017, Minister KT Rama Rao participated in the prestigious annual event held in Sacramento, USA.
The American Society of Civil Engineers and Environmental and Water Resources Institute (ASCE—EWRI) invited the Minister to deliver the keynote address. In the invitation letter to the KTR, the ASCE-EWRI leadership team said they would love to hear about the success story of the process, which led to the speedy completion of mega projects and the leadership role in transforming Telangana’s landscape.
The ASCE represents more than 1 lakh 50 thousand members of the civil engineering profession across 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is America’s oldest engineering society.
Last year, an EWRI delegation visited the Kaleshwaram project in Telangana and was impressed by the scale of the Kaleshwaram project and the speed at which the project was completed.
Before leaving for the United States, the Telangana Cabinet Minister said it was a privilege to showcase Telangana’s Kaleshwaram project at ASCE-EWRI. Under the leadership of CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, Telangana achieved outstanding achievements in the irrigation sector. The State of Telangana, which was once drought-prone, has now turned fertile due to the vision and commitment of the CM KCR, KTR said.
