The inauguration of the new Telangana secretariat building postponed

The BRS-led Telangana government has postponed the inauguration of the new secretariat building in the purview of the model code of conduct (MCC) that has come into force due to MLC elections in Telangana.
The KCR Government had proposed to inaugurate the newly built secretariat on February 17, which is also the birthday of CM KCR. On the same day, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) also proposed a public meeting at Parade grounds, Secunderabad.
Officials have revealed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notification for filling up Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Mahbubnagar MLC Teachers' constituencies and for the Hyderabad Local Authority constituency two days ago. The Polling for the vacant constituencies will be conducted on March 13, and counting will be taken up on March 16, 2023. Since MCC will be in effect till the counting and declaration of the result, the inauguration of the new secretariat building will be held later.
KCR - Chief Minister's Office (CMO) officials said the Telangana chief secretary approached the ECI to allow the inauguration of the new secretariat, already announced by the state government. But the ECI has turned down the request, which has forced the state government to postpone the inauguration event. The next date will be announced soon, officials said.
